BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD TAKES FEMALE LEAD IN MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY'S 'GOLD' ADVENTURE! EPIC 'THE SECRET RIVER' HISTORICAL SERIES TRAILER WITH OLIVER JACKSON COHEN

BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD
TAKES FEMALE LEAD IN MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY'S 'GOLD'
One of the prettiest red heads in Hollywood, who took the lead female role this summer in this year's biggest worldwide hit JURASSIC WORLD, Bryce Dallas Howard has, according to 'Deadline' joined Matthew McConaughey in GOLD!
She will play Kay, the longtime girlfriend of McConaughey’s character, who has supported him through thick and thin, but whose capacity and loyalty are tested as the hunt for gold pushes their relationship to its breaking point: He teams with an equally luckless geologist (Edgar Ramirez) to execute a grandiose, last-ditch effort to find gold deep in the uncharted jungle of Indonesia. Corey Stoll, Toby Kebbell, Bruce Greenwood and Stacy Keach also star.

'THE SECRET RIVER' TRAILER
FOR OLIVER JACKSON COHEN HISTORICAL MINI SERIES
And something historical for you today: Australian mini series THE SECRET RIVER in which our favourite Oliver Jackson Cohen plays William Thornhill, an illiterate Thames bargeman and a man of quick temper but deep feelings, who steals a load of timber and is transported to New South Wales in 1806. Like many of the convicts, he's pardoned within a few years and settles on the banks of the Hawkesbury River. Perhaps the Governor grants him the land or perhaps he just takes it - the Hawkesbury is at the extreme edge of settlement at that time and normal rules don't apply. However he gets the land, it's prime riverfront acreage. It looks certain to make him rich. There's just one problem with that land: it's already owned. It's been part of the territory of the Darug people for perhaps forty thousand years. They haven't left fences or roads or houses, but they live on that land and use it, just as surely as Thornhill's planning to do. They aren't going to hand over their land without a fight. Spears may be primitive weapons, but settlers know that they can kill a man as surely as a ball of lead from a musket.

  1. Oh but I do like the look of The Secret River. Cohen is a good actor who always delivers a solid performance and I like watching him work. The scenery in this looks gorgeous and the story looks gripping.

The heat here has been dreadful. For the last 5 weeks we've been up near where you guys have been. It's only rained briefly twice, the grass is so dry it crunches under my feet. It's due to rain tomorrow and the temps to break. Has it finally cooled down for you guys?

    1. Yes, we do like such drama and we do adore Oliver! Always a pleasure to see him, especially when he plays good guys. He often played baddies and I enjoyed seeing him as a good guy in ITV's epic series GREAT FIRE last year. BANISHED is of the similar topic, dear!

It is totally the opposite here, dear :) We went from tropic temps three days ago to freezing Autumn two days ago. I had to cover myself with my winter duvet last night because my teeth were chattering in the middle of the night :) Hope it's just a wave cause I need to paint my window before the rains set in! It's about 11*C right now outside, nine o'clock in the evening

    2. Our weather is to do the same flip in a few days. Tomorrow it's to rain, then get nice. By the weekend it's to be down near freezing at night like you guys. If we get a frost though, it will kill my Morning Glory's.

Hopefully things will level out and we'll both have a decent Autumn to look forward to.

    3. I've noticed the grass was wet this morning, so I reckon we had dew ... I still have peaches on one of our trees and I'm not sure if barely 10*C temps at night are doing them any good. The leaves have started falling too over night... it seems we might have a regular Autumn this year instead of jumping from flipflops into boots in one day.

    1. except that he is famous for not taking baths and being a rather smelly partner :) The same goes for Brad Pitt and Leo de Capricosso...

    2. I wonder why so many big-name H'wood actors don't shower? Are they just too busy? Too lazy because they can't pay someone to do it for them? Or is the key to success as an actor being as smelly as possible?!

    3. or they got enough money to not care :) Some people are just messy and dirty....

    3. is it easier for you in cinema, because the screen is bigger? You can't watch TV at all? Is it too shaky?

      Delete
    4. No, I just hate TV series. They're both shaky but moderately so. (Knock on.... wood.)

    5. I'm guessing the shaky thing comes practical if you is watchin' some porn :)
