PREMIUM SPOTLIGHT AND CHARACTER PHOTOS FROM ABC'S NEW EPIC SHOW 'OF KINGS AND PROPHETS' WITH RAY WINSTONE, NATHANIEL PARKER, OLIVER RIX, JAMES FLOYD, HAAZ SLEIMAN

'OF KINGS AND PROPHETS'
ABC'S NEW EPIC TV SERIES
Arriving to us as one of the first of the new historical series this Spring, ABC's midseason epic series OF KINGS AND PROPHETS is ready to bring swords and sandals to the small screens March 8th beginning its Tuesday evening airing.
It will be an epic biblical saga of faith, ambition and betrayal as told through the eyes of the battle weary King Saul, the resentful prophet Samuel and the resourceful young shepherd David -- all on a collision course with destiny that will change the world. Although based on an Old Testament story the producers promise a sex drenched series filled with explicitly racy scenes, describing  one of the world’s first soap operas.

RAY WINSTONE LEADS THE CAST
The king from the story will be played by Ray Winstone, as the paranoid and violent Saul, First King of Israel. We meet him as he struggles to unify the 12 Israelite tribes and defend his fledgling nation against savage enemy attacks.
Ahinoam will be played by Simone Kessell from TERRA NOVA. She is the queen of Israel, the advisor to the throne as the wife of Saul!
Shepherd David is played by Oliver Rix from THE MUSKETEERS! He is the future King David, the second king of Israel!
Ish-Boseth, the youngest warrior son of the first king and queen of Israel Saul and Ahinoam will be potrayed by James Floyd.
Jonathan, the elder son of King Saul is played by  Haaz Sleiman!
Merav, the eldest daughter of King Saul and Queen Ahinoam and sister of Michal, is played by Jeanine Mason .
Their youngest daughter Michal is Maisie Richardson Sellers!
Belgian actor Louis Talpe will play Eliab, King David’s proud and single minded older brother.
The cagey, shrewd and lethal King Achish, the King of Philistia who has been warring with King Saul for years is played by  Nathaniel Parker!
Christina Chong plays Rizpah in the series!
Yoab is played by David Walmsley!
Lyne Renee is the Witch of Endor!
The series itself underwent many changes and reshoots and recastings and was moved to midseason instead of original Sunday night slot.

  1. Oh yes, there is plenty of sex and violence in this part of the Old Testament. The things David got up to when he became King were horrific. They were so bad, God had to dole out his punishments in 5 year installment plans for if he did it all at once it would have killed David.

    1. but I don't think we shall see it explicitly in the network version only in the cable one :) 'tis ABC after all!

    2. They will certainly tone it down a bit. Those people humped like bunnies and killed like madmen though. As literature those are some fabulous stories.

  3. Sex-drenched? YAY! But I'm only interested if the series includes David and Jonathan's shenanigans too. Somehow, I suspect it won't.

    1. way too often, methinks, I found most of the previous Bible series unwatchable. Tried watching NBC's AD recently and it was ghastly

    4. Did I tell you that half of this cast tweeted this post, Blue? Even Kim Klijsters, da famous tennis player, I'm guessing she is friends with Louis Talpe above :)

  5. Christina Chong kind of reminds me of Jennifer Garner. Same small eyes and dimples. Beautiful ladies, both of them.
