CATHERINE ZETA JONES JOINS JESSICA LANGE, SUSAN SARANDON, JUDY DAVIS IN 'FEUD' PERIOD SET TV SERIES! 'A QUIET PASSION' PERIOD SET TRAILER WITH CYNTHIA NIXON AS EMILY DICKINSON

  CATHERINE ZETA JONES IS
OLIVIA DE HAVILLAND IN NEW 'FEUD' TELEVISION SERIES
Magnificent news, spylings, our most beloved Welsh queen Catherine Zeta Jones is returning to the telly after starting her career two decades ago with outstanding performances in beautiful TV classic series Darling Buds of May, Titanic and Catherine the Great! She has been cast in FEUD series by FX and Ryan Murphy. It will be an anthology series, meaning that each season will describe a different celebrity feud.
In FEUD, Catherine Zeta Jones will join Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon who play Joan Crawford and Bette Davis with eight episodes depicting their famous rivalry during the making of 1962 film What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? Their feud increased movie's popularity at the time, and it was later on nominated for five Oscars. Zeta Jones will play Davis' close friend Olivia de Havilland, who was also famous for her long time feud with her sister, actress Joan Fontaine, and who often fought Crawford for movie roles. Alfred Molina will play the film's director, Robert Aldrich,  Stanley Tucci is studio titan Jack Warner, Judy Davis is gossip columnist Hedda Hopper while Dominic Burgess is Crawford and Davis' co-star, Victor Buono.

And to stay in the period set waters, here's the first trailer for new drama movie A QUIET PASSION which is out this November starring Sex and the City's Cynthia Nixon as  famous American poet Emily Dickinson in the story that follows her from her early days as a young schoolgirl to her later years as a reclusive, unrecognised artist. Jennifer Ehle plays her sister in the movie, with Keith Carradine also in the cast. Terence Davies, helmer of recent critically acclaimed sensual dramas Sunset Song and Deep Blue Sea is directing this one.

  2. I love Emily's poetry so this movie intrigues me. Though I hope it will not be one of those overly dramatic biopics. Probably not. Catherine looks to be ready to bring out the claws for this new venture. Yes!

    1. Nixon did get praise for her role and the director usually has a very subtle touch. I'm guessing next season of FEUD could be about Havilland and Fontaine

  3. I suspect that in "A Quiet Passion," Jennifer Ehle does not play Emily Dickinson's SISTER but rather, her sister-IN-LAW with whom Emily is thought to have had a lesbian love affair. The trailer gives no direct hint of that, of course, but since Cynthia Nixon is herself a lesbian, I doubt if she'd agree to portray a straight-washed view of Dickinson. So now I'm looking forward to this film!

    1. Tis possible, I thought she was her sister since they have the same surname. Such a delightful detail, Debs

  4. Feud looks good as it is dealing with epic rows between the big famous stars of the past. That will be more fun than seeing how current celebrities squabble.

I has finally had a chance to get out of doors for a little while. First we had temps in the 40's then we had torrential rains. The yard was looking a mess!

    1. Oh, yes, these brats today have no style even when they fight each other :)

We had torrential rains too, methinks, it could be good for the later summer nature. It finally isn't hellishly hot here and I've turned off my AC after a month or so...

  5. Catherine is so stunning! I remember she got a lot of negative press when she starred with Brad and George in one of those Ocean's movies. Apparently she was hard to get along with. I am thinking they probably just didn't want her stealing the spotlight from their boys club.

    1. or maybe she was just too fine for those two nincompoops :) I can see myself not getting along with the likes of Clooney and his gang. Catho is too good for them.
