SF TUESDAY: MICHAEL CRICHTON'S 'MICRO' MOVIE ADAPTATION! 'KING KONG SKULL ISLAND' FEMALE LEAD TV SERIES! DAN STEVENS' 'KILL SWITCH' SF MOVIE POSTER

MICHAEL CRICHTON'S 'MICRO'
TO BE TURNED INTO A MOVIE
Sf and fantasy adaptations today, people, beginning with Michael Crichton's MICRO which is supposed to be directed by Joachim Ronning. Crichton's last written novel, finished by Richard Preston after his death, is a high concept thriller that follows a group of graduate students lured to Hawaii to work for a mysterious biotech company only to find themselves miniaturized and cast out into the rainforest, with nothing but their scientific expertise and wits to protect them. Ronning, who finished the latest instalment of Pirates of the Caribbean is also set to helm Tom Cruise in Methuselah epic movie.

FEMALE LEAD TV SERIES!
While some parts of the world are still enjoying the latest Tom Hiddleston lead big screen adaptation of KING KONG SKULL ISLAND, a television series with the same title is also in the works but with a female lead! Based on Merian C. Cooper’s King Kong and DeVito ArtWorks’ Skull Island it will have a female-led, multicultural ensemble that delves into the wonders and horrors of Skull Island and its origins.

Speaking of sf, check out the first poster for sf action adventure KILL SWITCH which will see Beauty and the Beast star Dan Stevens playing  a pilot who battles to save his family and the planet after an experiment for unlimited energy goes wrong. Also known as REDIVIDER, it will also star Berenice Marlohe.

  2. The Kill Switch looks intriguing.

    I read a lot of Crichton books back in college. I remember hearing he passed away a few years ago- but I don't remember hearing of Micro. Thanks for sharing.

  4. I haven't ever read Michael Crichton, but remember selling a lot of his books when I worked at a bookstore 20 yeas ago. I think Micro sounds interesting.
