  1. I don't care if they use colourblind casting and make Achilles black -- but I'll be pissed right off if they straightwash the character instead of portraying him as the gay lover of Patroclus.

    1. he he he.... Gyasi already played a gay man in wonderful MAN IN THE ORANGE SHIRT mini series earlier this Autumn at BBC, it was one of the most beautiful series this year if not ever, hope you did not miss it, it is wonderfully gay

  2. Well, this does put Netflix back in my good graces. We will be looking forward to it in the new year.

    1. I just hope it's not a trashy, silly cheap affair like BBC's Atlantis was a few years back or their Musketeers. They do costume drama well, but their epic dramas leave a lot to be desired

    2. We’ll judge more when a trailer is finally released. I didn’t see Atlantis so I won’t judge on that, but if it does look trashy based on upcoming clips, we will skip it.

    3. I always do first two or three eps and then ditch it if it's bad. Maybe it will have good timing when nothing else is on.

    4. Same here. If it hasn't caught on by episode 3, we bail on it also. Or, if it gets such terrible reviews, we won't even attempt it. Like I was really looking forward to Emerald City, but the reviews made it sound so bad, we completely deleted it off Tivo without even watching a single episode.

    5. Emerald was one of the greatest disappointments of the year, I will never like Tarsem the same way again.

    1. Hope they release some kind of trailer soon, but I'm not raising my hopes up, it's BBC after all :)
