  1. I'm way behind the times because I don't recognize any of the actors in either series. But the costumes sure look pretty!

    1. you might recognise Francesca Anis from DUNE sf movie from the 80s? She was Lady Jessica in it

  2. Pretty sure tyrant and enslaver describes a lot of male and female rulers of those times. I'm so excited and hope this mini series will follow a ruler and not focus on her gender. Those are the best ones.

    1. and of modern times, but the point is that the West sees tyrant and enslavers only in non Western nations not in their own mirror. The bitch Victoria probably enslaved and killed more people around the world than Hitler and yet she is celebrated.

    2. She certainly wasn't kind to us. We were starving and she just kept getting fatter and fatter and fatter.

    3. that is how their empire was built, on corpses and slaves but they won't say it out loud or call their rulers nasty psychos because it is the West

  4. I'm reading The Lady of Ashes series right now and they make Victoria sound like a nutcase. They certainly don't celebrate her in those books!

    1. I once read a novel in which she is married to count Dracula :) Fellow bloodsuckers they are

    2. That's hilarious! Though, she is still married to Albert in this series. It's a historical fiction book, so they try to mix in a little history and leave out the supernatural elements lol

    3. them being monsters is supernatural element enough

  5. I loved Home Fires and am so glad you sent it to me. The second season is sure to be great as the women will face so many challenges and changes.

So they are just following Queen Vicky until her marriage? We won't get to see her grow fat as she eats like a little piggy. They have a pair of her knickers in a museum and you could fit three men in them-three fat men :0)

    1. I wonder if Francesca's character will turn her ways and join the ladies.
I bet she used her knickers to sew sales for her ships that conquered India :)

  7. Kind of hard to imagine Jenna Coleman as Victoria. It's going to be odd to see her in a roll other than Dr. Who. Sounds like an interesting series.
